The graded scale etched into the pulley allows you to advance or retard cam timing
However, going away from the recommended setting will often incur losses at some point in the rev range, fro this reason we recommend expert setup of these items.
The vernier pulleys feature a true vernier adjustment which will allow accurate timing adjustment down to one tenth of a degree.
